I really like the doctor a few years ago went I went to him for an issue I was have. He listened and took time to discuss options and testing. But now, this visit, he didn't seem to listen to some of my concerns and dismissed my feelings. He really seemed like he just wanted to get this appointment over with. I have been seeing Dr. Urkowitz for many years. I trust his medical advice.

I have been a patient of Alan Urkowitz, D.O. for over 35 years. Previously he had his own private practice. Now at Virtua, he only sees patients 3 days a week. In the past I've trusted his medical care. He always listens to my questions but in the last year or so his responses are more dismissive. He is less likely to discuss my concerns. Recently it feels he is checking off boxes on my chart. Does he realize how long he's been my primary care physician? Perhaps he is close to retirement. I wonder if I need to find a new primary doctor.

The entire staff was completely organized. I was picked up in five minutes to go to doctor's office. My blood pressure was taken, then he came in and rechecked it, and it was just a really good visit. I can't say more, any better about the entire staff.

Today was a very pleasant visit

As usual Dr. Urkowitz provides excellent care.

For a 6 month exam I expected a more thorough exam. Maybe this is the new normal? The Dr did review my bloodwork but after that he really only asked me questions about how I felt. Once I said I was having some issues he only checked my chest for breath sounds, never checked lymph nodes, stomach or throat, reflexes, etc. like I've had done in previous checkups. I was complaining of dizziness and balance issues and the Dr didn't make any attempt to check me physically to see if he could figure out what was wrong (not sure if that is normal or not). He just mentioned he thought I should probably see a neurologist. Didn't seem to remember I mentioned the same thing on my last visit. He was compassionate about my concern regarding my weight gain and said he would support me if I wanted to get a RX for a weight loss drug so I did appreciate that.

Like the practice and staff in office, not so much the provider. I will be staying at the practice but switching to another provider.
