Kevin Overbeck, DO, is a fellowship-trained geriatrician and board-certified family medicine physician who serves as chair of the Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine Department of Geriatrics and Gerontology and director of the New Jersey Institute for Successful Aging. He earned his medical degree at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey–School of Osteopathic Medicine (now Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine). He completed his family medicine residency and geriatrics fellowship at Kennedy University Hospital. He has been recognized as a “top doc in geriatrics” by SJ Magazine and has received the Rowan-SOM Faculty Teacher Award of the Year, as well as the Arnold P. Gold Foundation’s Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award. Dr. Overbeck’s clinical expertise includes aging, Alzheimer’s disease, behavioral issues in dementia, capacity assessment, cognitive health and impairment, delirium, dementia, deprescribing, goals of care, chronic disease management, medication management, end-of-life care, and hospice and palliative care.     When I went to see the doctor, I had a lot of concerns about my memory and where I stand. He was absolutely terrific. Not just a professional, but understanding how nervous one person can be. I would recommend Dr. Overbeck to everybody. He was absolutely terrific and look forward to the next stages of testing. Thank you so much.

    I appreciate the entire. staff in the Lions Gate Wellness Center; however, Dr. Overbeck is exceptional in his understanding of both the medical aspects of geriatrics and in his patience in listening to us. I believe he is the best primary care physician I have ever had.

    Dr. Overbeck is very nice, spends a lot of time, and really listens. But it's very difficult to get in touch with him if there is a health issue that's occurring. He gets messages, supposedly, from his secretary or his person, [REDACTED]. But it's very frustrating that I can't get in touch with him when we need him.
