Kimberly Shemanski, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained thoracic surgeon and part of the Penn Medicine | Virtua Health Cancer Program. Dr. Shemanski is dedicated to employing robotic-assisted and other minimally invasive techniques to treat the breadth of foregut and pulmonary conditions. However, rather than allowing advanced technology to depersonalize medicine, she and her team use it to enhance patient-centered care. Dr. Shemanski earned her medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine. She completed her general surgery residency at the University of Southern California and cardiothoracic surgery (thoracic surgery track) fellowship at the University of Virginia. She joined Virtua in September 2024 and has since worked collaboratively across specialties to deliver superior outcomes and improve lives. Dr. Shemanski has published research in multiple medical journals and has presented at conferences nationwide. While pursuing her medical degree, Dr. Shemanski co-coordinated a student-run free health clinic for underserved patients in Washington, DC, and brings a passion for patient advocacy to the community.     It would be very helpful to have her picture on the board with the surgeons that are in that group. Again, a picture of the doctor with her name on the board outside of the office in the lobby would be most helpful.

    Dr. Shemanski was very professional and gave me the best course of action for my ailment. I really appreciated her stepping in to advocate for a {PHI} sooner rather than later, for Dr {redacted}r. She is godsend.

    The doctor was very pleasant; I have no complaints about her. But the ladies who helped me at the table in front of me and the lady who took me to the room were very rude. They didn't make me feel safe. I felt like a nuisance. The doctor was good, but her team needs to be reviewed.

    I Loved how Dr Shemanski's approached me and my spouse when she entered the room. Very nice, straight to the point but very kind. I look forward to continuing to see her through my journey.

    well organized office but directions to find it are poor. There are no landmarks mentioned or streets crossing rte 70 so that one can determine how close to the office or how far have you dirven beyond the office. Noted: near Chicken and Egg Restaurant - big yellow building. If you are going east on rte 70 towards Medford DO NOT pass Plymouth Drive. Turn right there and enter the strip mall. Virtua is on the LEFT on street passing stores.

    Dr. Shemanski was extremely knowledgeable about my history, even though it was the first time meeting her. She eased all of my concerns. She sat and listened to three pages of questions and made sure that I understood everything that was going on with my diagnosis. I would implicitly recommend her to anyone who needs to have surgery.     Dr Shemanski and PA Ed Chow were very experienced, caring and responsive. Thet have been the best caring team I have experienced.
