Yes, all staff were kind, friendly. It was my first visit, which is why I had to give a couple mines. I don't know everything yet about the program or the staff, but everybody was kind and thoughtful. And yeah, the physician was wonderful, so it was a great experience, and I appreciated it. I feel like he was trying to sell me the surgery option. I think that is a more drastic option if medicine doesn't work. He definitely believes in that.

I didnt appreciate that the person scheduling my appointment told me that I probably wouldn't qualify for any interventions based on my BMI. Weight management is just not about 1 calculation of a standardized measurement. She did not have a medical license to offer her opinion and try to deter me from seeing my provider. Just because I am not obese anymore does not mean I am not a bariatric patient. I will always be a bariatric patient and from time to time will need assistance to keep the weight off before it becomes out of control. She said that she was instructed to inform me and others r/t BMI and interventions. I stood my ground and persisted to get an appointment. I think this is bad medical practice and if I didnt have a 6 year history with my doctor I would have gone elsewhere.

The technicians that took my vitals treated me like I was on an assembly line. No personality, and I get it I'm not there to make friends but I expect professionalism with some type of the friendliness. If you're going to ask me questions about my meditation and previous surgeries, allow me the opportunity to answer without ignoring my answers or not allowing me to answer before you move on to the next question. Unfortunately I didn't remember their names but I expressed my concerns with Dr. Balsamo and he knows who they are. The black technician was borderline rude, to the point I asked that she get someone else and I overheard telling the others I requested another technician as she laughed very loudly. I have been a patient with Virtua for all of my adult life and now as a senior I was highly offended by the lack of professionalism from both of these young ladies who may be younger than my children. I have excellent relationships with all of my doctors and staff at Virtua but these young ladies made me feel very uncomfortable. I hope my concerns are addressed because I almost walked out before meeting with the doctor. On the other hand, Dr. Balsamo was extremely professional and once I cooled down from the rude technician's behavior I was able to receive the information and service he provided. Where is our healthcare system going that this type of behavior is acceptable, especially to senior citizens.

Everything went smoothly. Dr. Balsama is terrific! Only downside is main entrance is heavily identified as Penn Medicine so it made me second guess myself that I was at the right location (even though I have been there before). I ended up driving around again and finally called the Haddon Heights office for help.
