Narsimha R. Pinninti, MD

Narsimha Pinninti, MD, is a professor of psychiatry at the Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Pinninti is a clinician, administrator, educator, and researcher. His overarching goal is to create the best possible systems of care for individuals with mental disorders. Dr. Pinninti earned his medical degree from Gandhi Medical College, Hyderabad, India. He completed his internship at NTR University of Health Sciences of Vijayawada. He did psychiatric residencies at the Institute of Mental Health of Osmania University, St. Thomas Hospital Medical School, London, and the Eastern Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute at the Medical College of Pennsylvania.

As a clinician and administrator, Dr. Pinninti oversees a continuum of addiction and mental health services that includes individuals with serious mental disorders and severe addiction issues in an outpatient setting. As an educator, Dr. Pinninti is course director for teaching cognitive behaviour therapy to psychiatric residents at the Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine. In addition, he trains and supervises case managers, peers, and counsellors in utilizing cognitive behaviour therapy and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy for individual with various mental disorders. As a researcher, he has published over 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals and has co-authored three books and two cognitive therapy-based manuals. He also serves as medical director of CCBHC Oaks Integrated Care in Trenton. He speaks Telugu and Hindi.
