Nasser I. Youssef, MD

Nasser Youssef, MD, FACS, is a board-certified, triple-fellowship-trained surgeon specializing in organ transplantation and complex vascular surgery. Dr. Youssef helped to establish Virtua’s kidney, pancreas, and liver transplant programs and has been instrumental in their growth. Dr. Youssef earned his medical degree at Aleppo Medical School, Syria. He completed a general surgery residency at the Medical College of Virginia, a liver transplant fellowship at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York, a kidney transplant and vascular surgery fellowship at Boston University Medical Center, and a pancreas transplant fellowship at the University of Minnesota. He is certified by the United Network for Organ Sharing. Dr. Youssef has served as principal investigator in numerous clinical trials and has helped to train future generations of surgeons.
