Susan I. Kaufman, DO

Susan Kaufman, DO, FACOG, is a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist who provides a personalized approach to gynecologic care and lifelong wellness. Dr. Kaufman is passionate about advancing women’s health and expanding and improving access to care. She specializes in pediatric and adolescent gynecology, LGBTQ+ care, and gynecologic care for teens and women with special needs. Dr. Kaufman earned her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her OB/GYN residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Throughout her career, she has educated and mentored future generations of physicians, including OB/GYN residents at Virtua and other hospitals, as well as medical and college students. Dr. Kaufman also served as a lieutenant commander in the United States Public Health Service, caring for Native Americans, Navajo, and Hopi in Arizona. She is a frequent speaker about women’s health and is active with a number of professional organizations, including the Obstetrical Society of Philadelphia and the North American Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology. Outside of medicine, Dr. Kaufman enjoys painting, sculpting, crafting, and hiking. Recently, she and a former medical student published a book for girls with autism and other neurodivergences and their parents about puberty and menses.
